A day of Adventure!!!

My hubby and I spent a day in Mississippi... taking pictures, soaking up history and having an all out great day. I had seen someone on facebook talking about this place, Windsor Ruins, in Port Gibson, Mississippi. I googled it and just had to see it for myself. It's absolutely amazing. Winsor Ruins is columns left from a beautiful plantation home built in 1861. The man who built the home was a wealthy cotton farmer named Smith Coffee Daniell II. Sad thing is he only got to live in the house for 2 weeks before he died. Then during the Civil War the home was used as a hospital to aid Union Soliders is why it was never burned during that time. After the Civil War there was a party held their where one of the guest left a lit cigar on the balacony causing the whole place to burn...the only thing left where the columns and a beautiful staircase which they later moved to a church at Alcorn State University. If you're ever in the area you should definitely check it out. We also stopped and toured the Grand Gulf Military Park and spent time in Vicksburg taking pictures. I just wanted to share a few with you. Hope you enjoy.
